Excerpts from Mom's email:
Hey Mom!
Yeah this week has just been so crazy for me! Elder Hamilton leaving was definitely really hard for sure especially saying goodbye and the day after. Never really put into perspective how he was a brother to me and how much I relied on him until now. Keep me updated about him though as soon as you see him and everything. I miss him a lot still, but we are doing really good still. I know the area much better then I thought I did. I have had to take pretty much all of his responsibilities. Driving, leading, training, and the big one is now I am District Leader.... So that was a surprise. It's not to hard, the only thing I am a little nervous about is giving trainings every week.. We have a district meeting tomorrow and I still am not quite sure what I am going to train on. Wish me luck.
Almost to much happened this week. I barely can remember it all. Of coarse Elder Hamilton left, but there was just so much that went along with that. We went to the city so he could do the last of his shopping and to get a haircut. The guy who gave it to him btw is apparently is number 5 in the worlds best barbers and he was only 20 I think.
We have been following up with all of our investigators through the week and some are progressing and some took a nose dive. I think Elder Hamilton leaving hit some of them pretty good. Makes you realize how big of an impact he had on some of them. I'm not sure where to go at this point with some of them. It seems like we are stuck in one place at the moment. Still working hard with them and won't give up. L... is doing really well with giving up smoking and everything. Even her care, J...., has decided to quite with her. We saw M...... for the first time in a while at this ward square dance! Him and Sister M..... were just having a blast together which is so good. They also came on Sunday and we found out they have decided on a marriage date and his baptism will follow a few days after. It is in October so don't think I will be here for it unfortunately, but hey I'm happy for him still.
Love you heaps Mom! Have a good week!

Excerpts from Dad's email:
Hey Dad!
Yeah I can find my way around pretty well actually. I have to drive us now, so that is super weird on the opposite side of the road. We had to drive into the mission office yesterday and that is near the city, so long drive and we went there to drop Elder Hamilton off as well. I have had a lot of experience behind the wheel here at this point, so I am pretty confident that I will do fine with that. Not to hard just a little weird at first.
This week is just full of stories trust me. Probably the craziest thing we have found out this week is that our investigator, T...., house burned down. We had the assistance look it up yesterday and that is really all we know at this point. Nobody was hurt so that is good, but here is the kicker... He was finishing my scriptures and I never did get them back. Elder Hamilton got his back the day before he left, because T.... new he was leaving. Mine were close, but who knows at this point. Good thing I gave him new ones and not your old ones, but still those things cost money lol. Praying that they survived! Idk what to do at this point with that because there isn't much we can do except wait.
Transfers are in two weeks, so it makes me wonder if they are going to keep me here or go somewhere new. Not to worried about it, but still all these changes I feel like another curve ball is on the way.
It has been really funny with the bikes lately. Elder Hamilton was always the one to have bad luck on the bikes, but now it seem like that bad luck has passed to us. Elder Danielsen-Jensen hit his front brakes pretty hard and went over the handle bars. Don't worry he is totally fine, but it was pretty crazy to see that (also a little funny lol). Then my bike fell over and the kick stand is now loose, but I think we can fix it at the office. We will see.
Well that's all I got time for at the moment. It is weird, I have heaps of emails this week and I also have to send reports to president being district leader now haha
Love you heaps Dad and have a good week!

Excerpts from Mom's email:
Hey Mom!
My week went pretty quick, but it was a good one. Yeah I am going to miss Elder Hamilton a lot for sure. He is like a brother to me. It has been weird for the last couple weeks, because it has been as if there has been a count down for when he leaves and it has had me thinking about home. Makes me realize how fast a mission goes. Elder Hamilton I think is excited and at the same time it doesn't quite feel real yet. It will be weird without him around. It really has felt like I have known him for ages. Elder Danielsen-Jensen is doing really well still. He is a great missionary and we get along really well. No word on his visa, yet so he may or may not be here for a while.
The work has been going about the same as last week. Still going, but still needs work as well. We cover many many areas, so many I could not list them all. If you look it up we cover from Taparoo to Fullham Gardens, South Australia. There was a many miracles that I had the opportunity to experience this week. On the 18th, the rain was coming down hard! Very hard and the worst part was that we have been running out of Ks so we have to use the bikes. In the morning we walk out and we see how hard it was raining. So I turn to my companions somewhat jokingly and ask "How strong is your faith? Strong enough to command the rain to stop?" We then decided to show our faith. Elder Danielsen-Jensen offered up an amazing prayer and in that prayer, he asked God for the rain to cease. At that very moment, in the exact instance he said that, the rain stopped very sudden. Elder Hamilton and I admittedly opened our eyes and looked at each other in shock, but soon as we did that it began to pore down again. So Elder Danielsen-Jensen asked again for the rain to cease and again, the rain stopped suddenly. We closed the prayer and were in amazement. Throughout the rest of the day, the only time it rained was when we were inside. It seemed as if every time we stepped outside for the rest of the day, the rain just stopped. Then when we walked inside, the rain started up again. Some may say that all of this was a coincidence, but I know for a fact that it wasn't. God is a God of miracles. We put our faith in him even for something so simple as asking for the rain to stop so we may contact people on the streets and to continue the work. You can tell from the story that even we were in shock to see a miracle like this. This has grown my testimony even further and I know that God is watching over us and that he does care, even about the little things. A general authority asked us "Are you experiencing miracles every day on your mission?" I am so blessed for the chance to experience miracles as often as I do. To be able to serve the Lord and to see his power and the power behind this gospel. I wish I could share more with you and share all of the miracles with you, but since I can't I will encourage you to go and experience them for yourself.
Love you so much Mom!

Yeah I am doing pretty good at the moment. Elder Hamilton leaves Thursday morning so yeah very soon. Only a few days left! Yeah we get along like brothers. Love the guy so much and I sure will miss him. Hopefully I don't cry saying goodbye lol. Yeah I have heard that the district leader position will fall to me now, but not confirmed until later this week. So we will see what happens. I have already done of few things like gave training's and things like that since Elder Hamilton gave me the opportunity to try everything and learn how to do it while he is here.
Have to many stories again to share so I will tell you of one of my cool highlights. A few days ago I went on trade offs with the Zone leaders, Elder Layetele and Elder Arwang. It was a very fun and interesting day and a good learning experience. What made it so funny though was the few weird things that happened. We were just going about normal door knocking when we see this husky. No owner, no leash, nothing. Just this huge husky. Of coarse you know I love dogs and that is actually my favorite kind of dog so I call him over to pet him. So after that, I guess I made a new friend because we went to continue knocking doors and this dog just follows us to the door. Definitely was a good conversation started! So good that I feel like we should have missionary dogs haha. I can see why we don't though because there was a big dog behind one of the doors that went berserk and messed up the contact. Door knocking with a husky:).... Was interesting. We also did a ton of split street contacting which means we go to a place were there is a large flow of people and just split up and talk to everyone. It's fun and a bit weird and the same time just walking up on your own while people are walking and try to start of a conversation. You get a few looks and some choice words on occasion but we in an hour found 7 potentials and passed out heaps of cards getting the word out.
Hope it was a good week for you guys as well!
Love you pops!

Contact phone number on fence, KFC
Email #23
Area: Grange area of the Firle Zone
Companion: Elder Hamilton & Elder Danielsen-Jensen
Excerpts from Mom's email:
Hey Mom!
These last few days have had some interesting occurrences. We went to L...'s house the other day and we told her we were going to bring around KFC for her. She was so excited for it, she even said she had a dream about it the night before. In the dream, we were serving the sacrament, but instead of bread, it was KFC lol. Was just to funny! We have also done heaps of finding and have come across some interesting blokes. One guy we contacted immediately said "no go away" as soon as we said hi. We don't give up that easy, so then he told us why he didn't want to talk to us. Apparently someone told him in high school that Mormons worship a demon named Mormo... Never heard that one before haha. The worst part was that we tried telling him "No, no, we don't do that", but he didn't seem to want to listen haha. We honestly laughed about the whole thing.
There was also a really cool miracle yesterday. While we were finding, we see a phone number written on a fence in pen...so we call it up, but no answer. An hour later we get a call back and he asks "who is this and why did you call". We couldn't say how we got his number, so we just said we are the Missionaries from the Mormon Church and everything. Now here is the kicker. He said he has recently read through the whole Book of Mormon and he is really interested in learning more about it. He is in the Gawler area so we had to refer him, but if I ever go to that area, I would love to find out what happens with that. We feel we were inspired to call that number so who knows, he might just be baptized. If he is though, he may not ever know how we even found him.
Love you!
Excerpts from Dad's email:
Hey Dad!
Two stories ay... I told mom two already I think so I will try. We are finding new investigators slowly but surely. We found one yesterday named A... who is super keen. He told us how he is in the air force and he has the coolest stories ever. As well, he has learned a lot about Mormons from his friends who are members and he feels we are true messengers from God and will hear us out. It was kind of crazy how we met him to. It was when we were riding bikes and we are just waiting for a cross walk to turn green and he walks up next to us. We start talking to him really fast and right as the light turned green, we got his address and he said stop by so we did yesterday. Will keep you updated where that goes.
So we have been running out of K's lately. We only get 1000 a month and we have gone to the mission office I think 8 times so far which is 40 round trip. We only have around 350 left for the rest of the month, so we have been smashing the bikes! So much so that we didn't use the car once for the last few days. The funny thing is that it has been raining heaps here lately so makes things a little more interesting. Yesterday I think we road about 20 K's or so in the rain so riding to our appointments and went finding for 4 hours as well. It helps a lot though because I guess people feel sympathy for us walking around in the rain and will on occasion let us come inside. It's funny when we ride up to lights as well because we can just see people in their cars looking at us like we are crazy lol. Especially because we are laughing ourselves about it. Elder Danielsen-Jensen always says we are crazy for how fast we go on the bikes. "No normal person rides there bikes this hard" he says, but he is excited for how big his legs are going to get haha. Even with all the biking, I still feel I have gained weight. Idk if I'm crazy or what, but I think I am going to try to cut back on the amount I eat but will be hard with all the meal appointments. Well hope that counts as two stories haha.
Love ya heaps Dad! Have a good week!

New Companion, Stolen bike seat, Huntsman spider
Email #22
Area: Grange area of the Firle Zone
Companion: Elder Hamilton & Elder Danielsen-Jensen
Excerpts from Mom's email:
Dearest Mother,
Sorry for the late email in the week, we went to the temple today. I am really glad you got my letter! To be honest, it feels like ages ago that I wrote that though haha. I'm not quite sure if I even remember half that I wrote which is weird. Yeah I got the package! Thanks so much for that I love it! Packages and letters are the best thing to get! They really are, I always get excited when I get something! The tie is really nice and I really like the scripture on the back! Man, there is just way to much to go over in my email thought, I don't know what I should tell you because I obviously can't tell you everything that happened haha.
Well first off, I received my new companion, Elder Danielsen-Jensen (Yeah that's his last name haha). He is from Brisbane, Australia to which is good because now I will definitely improve my accent! he is visa waiting as well to go to Denmark. He is a really great missionary and we have gotten really close already! I have either lucked out with companions so far or I just haven't found the bad side of them yet. It is slightly harder to coordinate in a trio but I think I like a trio even more. We always are laughing it seems like!
There is just so many funny stories this week it is ridiculous. First off, Elder Hamilton's bike seat got stolen so he had to ride standing up for ages... that was just the funniest thing ever! Then they replaced his seat and the new seat was crooked... then he got a flat tire yesterday as well. This seems all bad but it really was just really funny to us. Also earlier this week I received not the best of surprises. We walk into the flat and Elder Hamilton says "Oh... Elder Bryner isn't going to like this" and then he turns on the light and there is this huge huntsman spider on the wall! So we took the salt gun that we have and shot that thing 5 times... but wait there is more. That next day, Elder Danielsen-Jensen was joking that there was probably another one under this self we have, so he lifted the shelf and sure enough, there was a red back spider! Pretty good sized one to. Luckily we have that gun. I'm pretty sure I am getting over my fear of spiders because I was the one that had to pick the huntsmen up and throw it away. Don't worry, I have pics and I think a video as well. As for the work over here, we are in a bit of a struggle at the moment. We have had so much potential in the area, just nothing is quite following through just yet. We just need to build up the teaching pool and keep working at it. We aren't discouraged at all though, we have seen much improvement as well. We did a 24 hour fast with D... this week for him to keep striving to progress. He did really well! I think is making a real effort to move forward, just satin has made it tough for him. Keep him in your prayers for me. Well that's all i have for you until Monday. read dads to it adds on.
Love you heaps Mom!

Excerpts from Dad's email:
Hey Dad!
Yeah this week has been a long one for me as well haha. Training is really really good. It's a little nerve racking for me, but Elder Hamilton is still here. I am more nervous for when he leaves. Yeah so the GPS I have works really well.
So this week as I told mom has been just so long and so much has happened I can't possibly tell you everything, but I really want to. Well along with the experiences I have told mom, here are a few more. First, when we were driving to the mission office to pick up our new companion, the assistants give us a call.. they say that Elder Danielsen-Jensen has received his visa and we won't be training, but we can still come to the arrives dinner. We got all disappointed and I was all excited to be training and I was wondering what the heck is going to happen then when Elder Hamilton leaves. Anyway, when we get there the new missionaries start coming in and I recognized one of the new elders. Yep, the Assistants pranked us! Haha no worries though, we are going to get them back somehow. I don't know how though lol. They're the assistants... might be hard haha. Well I guess this the season for pranks, because I got Elder Hamilton real good to. He is already super jumpy bare in mind. So it's a early morning, all of us are super tired. Elder Hamilton is showering, and he thinks I am in the other shower, but I'm not. I am hiding:) he opens the door to his closet and.... yeah you are going to have to watch the video.
As for our investigators, still a struggle. M...... has been struggling to hold appointments for a while, but we invited him out to come play ball with us so we will see. T.... supposedly is almost done with my scriptures so stay tuned. We have had to drop a few investigators unfortunately. so we are trying to build our teaching pool at the moment. There are many that have strong potential that we are still teaching, it is just not to much progression forward at this point in time. We know the time will come though where it all comes together. Well will have to save some for Monday in a few days.
Love ya heaps pops!

Well will have to save some for Monday in a few days.
Love ya heaps pops!

Accepted call to serve as a trainer
Area: Grange area of the Firle Zone
Companion: Elder Hamilton & Elder Danielsen-Jensen
We received the following letter from President Parker.
Dear Bryner Family,
Elder Jaren Robert Bryner has accepted the call to serve as a trainer. He is dedicated and loving person and an excellent example to the other missionaries. His personality and missionary skills are very much appreciated here in the mission.
The responsibility of training a new missionary is one of the greatest opportunities of leadership a missionary can have and certainly the most trusted. It is a very special assignment and will have far-reaching effects on the new missionary and the Australia Adelaide Mission. Only the most stable and able missionaries are called to train. Elder Bryner's companion is District Leader Elder Hamilton and Elder Danielsen-Jensen, and they will be serving in the Grange Area of the Firle Zone.
Elder Bryner is a great example of the teachings of the gospel, and a wonderful representative of his home. We are grateful he is serving with us in the Australia Adelaide Mission.
With love,
President R. Jeffrey Parker

Survived transfers; Start training a greeny
Email #21
Area: Grange area of the Firle Zone
Companion: Elder Hamilton
Excerpts from Mom's email:
Hey Mom!
So yeah a really exciting week for sure! There is just so so much that has happened in the past week that there is just no way that I will be able to let you know everything, but I will try my best. So first off, transfers! So Elder Hamilton and I are.... Staying! and guess what else! We are training together a brand new missionary from Brisbane! We don't know his name or anything yet, so that is all I know. The funny thing is that is exactly what I wanted to happen. I really wanted to train and thought that it would be so much better for me to my first time with Elder Hamilton, but he told me that has never happened before in the mission. The only time there is ever three is when zone leaders are training, but president changed his mind idk. I am so excited for it though! So I will keep you updated on that.
So yeah we are both feeling great, doing great! We ended up not going to the temple this week with C... because he was sick, but we are this week I think. Never did exchanges either lol. Something happened there with the zone leaders, so it just didn't work out. We are having a hard time with a couple of our investigators who are so close, but have a few things here and there with them that is preventing them to be baptized. They are really small things that I think will be handled soon, but it is very hard. A funny story for the week was when we went to visit L.... What happened was that her carer wasn't there, so we couldn't go in so she went to go ask her neighbor to come in since we need a male present. Anyways so she was like "B.., can you come inside? These Mormons are teaching me so I can be baptized!" B.. couldn't though so as he was walking away, L.. yells "I'm gonna be a Mormon!". Haha I guess it's a had to be there kind of things, but it was just hilarious. Probably the hardest I have laughed in a long time! L... is a aboriginal women and she is in a wheel chair and she is just the funniest person! She always makes crack up comments to us. Every visit is just so funny! Well I have heaps of people to write today for some reason so this one will have to be shorter, but I will write dad more stuff so read that.
Love you!
Excerpts from Dad's email:
Hey Dad!
Waiting for transfer calls is the worst lol! I told mom all the transfer details. Yeah we play basketball all the time and I think I am getting pretty good haha. So our investigators are all doing really well. We have a total of 15 at the moment, but not all of them are super solid. I think we have maybe 6 that are solid. I have mentioned all of them before except for J..... who is our newest investigator. Our very first lesson he told us how he believes in signs and that he has just moved out here to find some guidance and direction in his life. Then a few days later we knocked on the door. He even said he doesn't normally open the door, but we knocked with a rhythm as always and that peaked his interest. Anyway, we taught him the Restoration and invited to baptism and he said he is going to see where this takes him. We don't have a date set yet, but next lesson I think we will. As well D... and M...... we are going to try our best to reach baptism before Elder Hamilton leaves especially because of how close we are to them! Not sure if they will make it in time, but I have faith so it is possible! If not, we will still keep pressing forward with them because they will reach it one day. It will be there first step to greatness! I can see it going far! I told mom the funny story for the week haha so look at that. This one will have to be short probably, but I will try to do a longer one next week!
Love you!
