Excerpts from Mom's email:

Hey Mom!

Man it was a long week! A pretty tough one, but I made it through! A very true principle I will start with is that God allows trials to shape us, to make us stronger. I'll say now as well, I have no doubt in my mind that this is the Lord's gospel! It is so true!

Well this was one of those weeks that I will more so have to fill you in when I get home, because there was just so so much going on! I'll do my best!

Well start of the week was really great, we had our District Pday with the other district and that was pretty fun. Mostly we went to this nice park and just had a nice afternoon playing sports and had a BBQ. I found out that I am secretly pro at soccer;). Schooled these two missionaries who are supposed to be all good at soccer hahaha. It was fun though and even had some birds attack our food while we were playing around.

The week kept on and well we didn't see very much success through it. It's been a tough transfer success wise, but don't worry my head is up!

We have a friend, recent convert, who has the coolest conversation story that I just love! He had fallen so hard in life and just kind of gave up on himself. He would tell people that he just didn't have any real purpose to his life. Well about a year ago the Missionaries knocked on his door. He lives in this huge apartment complex where all these druggies live. After knocking heaps and heaps of doors there, they found C...! Now seeing him, he has like 10 people he is sharing the gospel with really well and even his best friend from his childhood is now seeing the Missionaries over in my old area, Grange! So that is pretty Cool! It is good to see people like that! Shows what the work can do for others. Changed his life! He is now the strongest member ever, shares the gospel with everyone, is a strong leader, and the sky is the limit for him honestly!

Yesterday we had a trade off with the Flinders Elders and man we taught a super great guy! Honestly it was so refreshing to finally be able to teach someone like that again! His name is T.... and he is from the Kongo. We taught him at the chapel and taught simply the God head, prayer and baptism. We call it lesson zero BTW. We just started teaching him and he didn't seem to have much background in a belief. He came to church unexpectedly last week and we knew he was solid because we hadn't even taught him yet. The sisters so happened to come accessed him! It's like a district effort haha. Anyway, he just lit up as we taught him basic principles like the Holly Ghost. We walked to the baptismal font after showing a video of Christ being baptized and he said "I'll be in there real soon!" He is on date for the end of October! Unfortunately he is not in our area, but in hoping to teach him again, that was awesome! He is so keen!

Have a good week! Love you!

Excerpts from Dad's email:

Hey Dad!

Haha thank you for the email! That was probably one of the most entertaining ones I have read from you! I read it yesterday during lunch haha!

I went on trade offs this week with an elder who was trained by Elder Hamilton right before I came in! Well he is apparently going home in a week now! It is honestly just so weird how time flies! It was funny, we door knocked a street called Hamilton! We thought that would be funny:) found a good guy there too! Maybe he will pan out, that would be a cool story haha.

We had an exciting service activity that was kind of random. So we were just riding our bikes headed to go knock a street and these members that are really cool called out to us. We didn't realize they lived there, so we were pretty surprised. Anyway, they looked like they were doing something out front so we asked if they needed any help. They said yes, but we didn't realize what we just got ourselves into haha. They were throwing out there old piano because I guess it cost you like $400 just to sell one and it wasn't worth that to them. So they decided to try and scrap it and get money for the scraps. Do you know how hard it is to scrap a piano? We smashed that thing haha!! It was actually really fun! I'll try to send the videos that I can!

Then we helped the other elders move out of our flat and into their own. I guess president wants all the companionship in the mission to have their own flats now. He feels it is very important to go two by two. The senior couples have worked on setting up 14 flats and two of them were in our zone. We have tried helping them set those up, just takes time. Helping them was fun, but also really sad to have them move out. No more trios or any of that anymore:(. That's okay though, we still can go over on Pdays!

Today we have our last district activity as well just going to play sports at the chapel! Should be fun! Love you heaps and have a god week!
